Food in the Seychelles

The Seychellois are obsessed of good food, with the origins of their racially mixed backgrounds making interesting and exotic cooking. Influences include:

• Indian varieties of curry and wonderful spices
• Asian Fantastic stir-fries and rice
• European The French legacy with garlic, ginger and herbs

The main meal of the day is eaten in the evening and with so much of life in the Seychelles dominated by the ocean it is little wonder that many of the recipes include fish.
